Carina Schott is an assistant professor at the Utrecht University School of Governance (USG). She conducts research at the intersection of Public Management, Psychology and HRM in the public sector, and she is coordinator of the master's programme SHRM.

She regularly publishes in leading journals in her field, such as Public Management Review (PMR), Public Administration (PA), Human Resource Management Review (HRMR) and Review of Public Personnel Administration (ROPPA). Carina is co-chair at two international conferences: the and the . She is also closely involved in the Future of Work platform - which is part of the university-wide strategic theme Institutions for Open Societies - and she is a member of the editorial boards of international scientific journals (ROPPA, IJPA). In 2023, Carina has been awarded a NWO Open Competition SGW grant XS, which allows her to systematically examine the added value of social belonging interventions in public work places.
Carina teaches various courses at Bachelor, Minor and (Research) Master level, and she is also active in the executive and PhD training programme. In 2019, students nominated her for the USG teacher of the year award. In addition, she supervises two PhD research projects.
