How to donate

The Ronald van Kempen Urban Geography and Spatial Planning Fund enables early career human geographers and spatial planners at Utrecht University to gain experience abroad and develop their education and research skills. Skills that will benefit and enrich their work at ÀÖÓãºǫ́. The fund was established in October 2016 by Prof. Piet Hoekstra, in memory of former dean and human geographer Prof. Ronald van Kempen. The annual budget of the fund is €15.000, to be awarded to one or two members of the academic staff.

Grants applications 2025

You can apply for this fund once a year. Round 5: 15 September to 10 October 2025. Submit your application for the Ronald van Kempen Human Geography and Spatial Planning Fund via the of the University Fund. Before submitting an application, please read the criteria carefully and make sure they are incorporated into your application.
