Finishing your PhD
Completing your PhD is a moment to celebrate! At Utrecht University, the PhD defence ceremonies are held in the University Hall in central Utrecht. During the ceremony, you will defend your thesis before a Doctoral Examination Committee and pledge to uphold academic and research integrity. At the end, you will receive a diploma in Latin, an English translation, and a legally valid confirmation of your Doctoral Degree in English. Only one original degree certificate is issued. If you applied for the GSLS Training Certificate, you will receive that as well.
