Sayantan Samui is a Ph.D. Researcher in International Development Studies at Utrecht University. He is investigating the Historical adaptation trends of the Delta communities of Bangladesh and India to climate change hazards.
His research interest lies in Climate Change Adaptation, Vulnerability, and Water Security in the Global South. He is using qualitative, quantitative, and geospatial methods. Previously, he worked as a Researcher at the UKRI-funded "." Additionally, he worked on assessing the social vulnerability of the high-mountain Himalayan communities to Glacial Lake outburst floods (GLOF). He also has experience working on circular water economy and wastewater reuse in urban cities.
Sayantan holds a Master's in Development Studies from the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, India, and a Bachelor's in Geography from Presidency University, Kolkata, India.
