Prescilla focuses on the critical role of the immune system in health and disease. She is deeply fascinated by how a healthy diet and lifestyle can maintain good health. Her significant research on the immune system has contributed to theunderstanding of immune resilience, highlighting the importance of personalized nutrition in maintaining immune system resilience and, in the end, making healthcare more affordable.

With extensive experience working as a (senor) scientist and in project/program management within food companies, Prescilla has facilitated numerous public-private partnership grant applications. Her efforts ensure that scientific research is translated into practical health solutions, bridging academia and industry.

In her new role as Managing Director of Future Food Utrecht, Prescilla is excited to contribute to the work at Utrecht University that is advancing sustainable, healthier, and fairer food systems. In this role, she fosters interdisciplinary collaboration across all 7 乐鱼后台 faculties, partnering with other knowledge institutes and companies, and strengthening public-private partnerships. Concomitant engagement with regional, national, and international stakeholders is essential to create meaningful impact.

Prescilla's approach to her work aligns seamlessly with the TRIPLE criteria of Utrecht University. She embodies team spirit by fostering a collaborative academic climate, inspiring and motivating her colleagues, and taking shared responsibility for their success. Her commitment to high-quality scientific inquiry is evident in her research on the immune system and personalized nutrition. Prescilla's work aims to have a meaningful impact on both academia and society, translating scientific research into practical health solutions and advancing sustainable food systems. She excels in professional performance, managing public-private partnerships and facilitating grant applications to support high-quality research. As Managing Director, she demonstrates strong leadership by fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and engaging with various stakeholders to drive innovation and positive change. Despite reducing her teaching activities, Prescilla remains committed to integrating research and education, ensuring the next generation of healthcare professionals is equipped with transdisciplinary skills to shape the future of food.
