A beached orca on the examination table

The orca that ran aground and died near Cadzand on 15 October ended up on the autopsy table at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.

Weakened orca was sick and had severe gum disease

The orca that stranded and eventually died near Cadzand last Saturday had severe gum inflammation. The orca also had not eaten for some time.

The orca that died on Cadzand beach in Zeeland on Saturday is being examined at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. It is a female of 5.17 metres and about 2,000 kilos.
