Jetske van Heemstra
In August 2016 Jetske van Heemstra (sociologist and psychologist) started her PhD on personal recovery for refugees living in the Netherlands. This study will be performed in cooperation with Arq, psychotrauma expertise centre in Diemen. Focus of the study will be: personalisation of treatment, empowerment, clinical and personal recovery.
Before her research activities started, Jetske worked as a practitioner since 2011, focussing on PTSD, depression and personality problems. Besides she developed an empowerment method for torture survivors, which will be used in several European countries in 2017.
