About the programme

Each Changemakers session is a 2-hour event designed to inspire and empower. The programme includes:

  • A 1-hour talk by an expert in the sustainability field.
  • A 1-hour workshop where you'll transform ideas into actionable steps.

Whether your interest lies in sustainable food systems, social justice, or ethical business practices, each session equips you with the knowledge and tools to drive change in your community.

The Changemakers Series showed me that change is possible from a small group of people. Where there is a will, there is a way!

Previous speakers

Since starting the Changemakers Series in 2023, many speakers have already inspired us. Familiar names include Marjan Minnesma, Ed Winters and Aniek Moonen.

Marjan Minnesma 

Marjan is the director of the Dutch organization  and a leading figure in the climate justice movement. Known for her landmark legal battle against the Dutch government, Marjan led a historic case that resulted in a court ruling forcing the government to take action on climate change. She brings a wealth of experience in environmental advocacy, policy-making, and grassroots activism.

Ed Winters (Earthling Ed)  

Ed is a vegan educator, public speaker, and co-founder of , ​​​​​an animal rights organization. With his compelling and clear messages about the ethical and environmental impacts of food choices, Ed has inspired countless individuals around the globe to rethink their diets and contribute to a more sustainable world. His talks often focus on the intersections of ethics, food sustainability, and environmentalism.

Aniek Moonen 

Aniek is the former chair of the Dutch Youth Climate Movement (), a group that amplifies the voices of young people in the fight against climate change. Aniek has been instrumental in pushing for policies that reflect the urgency of the climate crisis and empower youth to have a say in their future. Her leadership in youth activism and climate policy makes her a vital voice in the sustainability discourse.

Hannah Prins

Hannah is a dedicated climate activist and legal expert committed to a just and sustainable future. With a background in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and master's degrees in criminal and international law, she combines academic knowledge with activism. As a  member of Extinction Rebellion, she trains activists and negotiates with authorities. Additionally, she serves as an ambassador for , advocating for the criminalization of large-scale environmental destruction. In 2023, she co-authored "Je bent jong en je wil wat toekomst", calling on the Dutch government to take decisive action against climate change.

Raki Ap

Raki is an Indigenous activist and spokesperson for the . He advocates for the self-determination of the West Papuan people and the preservation of Indigenous cultures and ecosystems. Beyond his activism, Raki is a key voice in the climate and human rights movements, raising awareness about the impacts of colonialism and ecocide on Indigenous communities. Through his inspiring work, he connects climate justice, human rights, and the struggle for Indigenous sovereignty.
