The effects of an online grief treatment after COVID-19

Rouwverwerking tijdens corona

The interplay between the increase in the number of deaths and corona-related stressors (e.g., absence of traditional grief rituals) that complicate the grieving process may lead to an increase in the call for help for people who experience grief problems. Because face-to-face support is not possible due to the corona-crisis and the waitlists for support will likely increase, online support may offer a suitable alternative for bereaved people who seek support during and after the pandemic. To meet the increased call for support, two randomized clinical trials will be executed to evaluate the effects of online cognitive behavioural therapy for grief after the loss of a loved one during the pandemic.
