Summer Workshop ‘Innovation on Vitality of the Mass’ in Japan

Next week, Japanese and Dutch students will join forces during a summer workshop where they will work on innovations to encourage physical activity in society. 

Physical inactivity is one of the major current societal issues. Our sedentary lifestyle causes serious health problems, such as obesity, burnouts and dementia. Which in turn relate to life threatening disorders as cancer, diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. 21st century lifestyle epidemics that also have clearly a negative impact on personal well-being, society at large and the economy.

The workshop will take place in Tsukuba and Tokyo (Japan) from 2 to 8 July. Academics from Utrecht University’s Sport & Society, Eindhoven University of Technology and University of Tsukuba will supervise the students. This workshop fits into the broader collaboration between these universities.
