RMU welcomes three new professors
This October, RMU welcomes three new professors.
As of October, Mor Dickman has started as head of the Department of Ophthalmology. Mor comes from the Maastricht UMC+, where he was an ophthalmologist, and the MERLN Institute, where he conducts research into regenerative treatments.
In mid-October, Eelco Bergsma was appointed as head of the department and professor of Oral Diseases, Maxillofacial Surgery. In addition to treating patients, he will be committed to research and education. Regenerative medicine and trauma care are two of his main areas of interest.
As of October 15, Stefaan Nijs has been appointed as professor of Musculoskeletal Trauma Surgery. Stefaan has been working at the UMC Utrecht since 2022 as medical scientific division manager of Surgical specialties. His major mission is to improve the fate of trauma victims, with a focus on reproducibly good outcomes - primarily for musculoskeletal injuries.
