New intangible heritage thesis prize in memory of Albert van der Zeijden

This year, for the first time, Utrecht University鈥檚 and the (KIEN) will award the to the best theses on intangible heritage. The prize is in honour of historian Albert van der Zeijden, who suddenly passed away last year.
Albert van der Zeijden
Albert van der Zeijden (1957-2021) worked as a historian within the world of intangible heritage and folk culture for almost 35 years. Van der Zeijden worked as head of KIEN鈥檚 team Research and Development.
At Utrecht University, he was a visiting researcher Intangible heritage at the Cultural History research group and the driving force behind the Utrecht Heritage and Public History Lab. Van der Zeijden was also a welcome guest lecturer in education.

By awarding the Dr. Albert van der Zeijdens Thesis Prize to excellent theses, the Utrecht Heritage and Public History Lab and KIEN want to stimulate research into intangible cultural heritage. Theses with (a form of) intangible heritage as their main theme are eligible.
