New business manager Educational Development & Training: Monique Heiligers

Since 1 October Educational Development & Training (ED&T) has a new business manager: Monique Heiligers. Monique succeeds D茅sir茅e Verberk and strengthens the management team of ED&T with her management experience in the world of research and education which she gained at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences and (longer ago) the TU Delft. 鈥淢y goal has always been to strengthen, enrich, and intensively connect education and research with the business sector鈥
Monique got a PhD in Aerospace Engineering, and subsequently also stayed working in aviation. First at the TU Delft, and for the past 11 years as business manager at the Aviation Academy of the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. As such, with her switch to Educational Development & Training she doesn't venture into unfamiliar territory. 鈥淓ven in my technical work, I have always been involved in education and research. How can you strengthen and connect the two? And how can you solve problems together with the business sector.鈥
The more stakeholders, the better
Monique tells us she is looking forward to new collaborations with ED&T, both within and outside of the university. 鈥淚 like establishing structural, strategic connections with parties who share the same goals. The more stakeholders, the more I like it. How do we ensure that all the educational knowledge developed within and outside the faculty is applied properly? Not only within our own education, but also outside it? By using each other's experience and expertise, you can ensure that together you create the impact and improvement you envision.鈥
