Recent developments in Learning Analytics and AI: What does it mean for research and educational practice?
Learning Analytics (LA) and AI applications in education are rapidly developing due to increased technological possibilities. What does this mean for Higher Education institutions, and the teachers and researchers working at these institutions?
To explore this question, the fourth webinar of our Learning Analytics series, held on April 7th, was organized by researchers from Utrecht University in collaboration with TU Eindhoven. The session featured a panel of eight experts from various Dutch institutions, all of whom attended the leading Learning Analytics and Knowledge (LAK) conference in March.
The panelists shared their key takeaways from LAK25 and reflected on how these insights translate into educational practice. The session included interactive discussions on a series of statements around the future of learning analytics and AI in education. Topics included dashboards, tracing the learning process with AI, student feedback, learning design and assessment enhanced by AI, human-AI collaboration, traditional dashboards versus those with chatbot features, emerging challenges driven by advancements in learning analytics, learning analytics in primary education, and the reinforcing potential of collaboration between science and industry.
If you would like to watch the session, the webinar is available via until May 9.
