Engage Actually: Public Engagement at the Faculty of Science

Connecting your research to people outside academia - public engagement - is perhaps more important than ever. Are you already an enthusiastic practitioner or could you use a little push? Do you already have a concrete plan for a public engagement activity, or could you use some inspiration? Are you unsure of the practical feasibility of your ideas, how to get funding, or how to convince your manager that this is a sensible use of your scarce time? Then Engage Actually is the meeting for you.
On Tuesday afternoon 3 December, we would like to welcome you to the Grand Caf茅 of the Vening Meinesz Building A. With, among other things, an information market with inspiring examples of public engagement, a panel discussion on how to find time and money for your public engagement plans, and a live interview with our dean, prof. Isabel Arends, about her vision on public engagement.
Are you interested? Then try to bring a colleague along who may not be as enthusiastic (yet) about public engagement!
The meeting is mainly targeted towards Faculty of Science staff, but is also open to students and people from outside the faculty.
