Celebrating 15 years of Coming-Out Day

Today marks the 15th official Coming-Out Day in the Netherlands, a day dedicated to raising awareness about the significance of publicly embracing one's sexual orientation and gender identity.

The event was commemorated at Utrecht University with the symbolic hoisting of the rainbow flag at University Hall, in the heart of the city. Diversity Dean John de Wit, along with members of the LGBTQIA+ student association Anteros, led the ceremony.

It's crucial to remember that acceptance of sexual, gender, and sex diversity is not guaranteed. Those of us who are and can be out of the closet, can come together to hopefully make it easier for others. Let鈥檚 make sure nobody has to live a life of fear because of who they are.
