Reviewing the Legality of the Cabinet's Plans on Migration
The Dutch cabinet has announced various measures on migration. These measures have raised several questions on the possible frictions with the rule of law and the Dutch obligations under international and European Law. During the meeting on December 5th, several scholars will discuss the measures on asylum, labour migration, foreign students and reception conditions.
Elaine Mak will provide the keynote on the compliance of the Dutch Coalition Agreement with the rule of law. She will discuss the report that was prepared under her leadership for the Netherlands Bar Association (NOvA). In this report all the measures proposed by the government have been tested for compliance with the rule of law. This meeting offers plenty of space to exchange views on these topics.
An excellent opportunity, therefore, to find out more about the current state of affairs concerning the cabinet's migration plans. This event will also announce the upcoming research platform on Migration Law (MiLa) Thursday 5 December 11:00-13:00 Alex Brenninkmeijer Room (1.27) Johanna Hudig Building.
