Research Talk: Racial Discrimination in the “Danish Ghetto Case”
The Platform on Equality Legal Studies (EQUALS) invites you to join us for discussion of the “Danish Ghetto Case”, currently pending before the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU).
Tina Stavrinaki (̨/CERD), Sarah Ganty (UCL/Yale) and Karin de Vries (̨) will present their views on the Opinion of Advocate General Ćapeta, who argues that the so-called Danish ghetto law, which enables forced eviction of residents from neighbourhoods where the majority of the inhabitants are "non-Western" immigrants, amounts to direct discrimination on the ground of racial or ethnic origin. Participants are welcome to join online or in person at the ̨ School of Law.
