Making, Unmaking and Remaking the Rule of Law
IOS Global Futures of Democracy Seminar series
"Making, Unmaking and Remaking of the Rule of Law" is a joint initiative of the IOS Global Futures of Democracy Initiative and the Montaigne Centre for Rule of Law and Administration of Justice , examining the state of the rule of law from different disciplinary and methodological perspectives. In the seminar series, experts from various fields come to discuss different standpoints regarding their interpretation of what the Rule of Law is and should be.
We will focus on the following central questions:
What are the origins of the rule of law in its present form, and how has it been legitimated;
what are its present shortcomings;
and how can we transform it so that it will remain relevant, responsive and robust in turbulent times?
Join us for the next interdisciplinary seminar on the 25th of June, location will be announced.
