Descartes Centre Christmas Colloquium

Stories of Community and Friendship in Science
Now that the days get shorter and the weather colder, we could all use some good times with our fellow Cartesians. Therefore, in the spirit of Christmas, the Descartes Centre will dive into the heartwarming topic of what brings us together! Because science isn鈥檛 just about ideas and discoveries: it鈥檚 also about the people who make it happen.
Get ready for a festive Christmas colloquium that will give you some deep insights into the stories of Community and Friendship in Science鈥攃ollaboration, support, and camaraderie that shape scientific communities, both past and present. May the warmth of our friendships combined with short pitch-like academic presentations rekindle the fire in your souls.
We aim to create an event that鈥檚 not just a series of talks, but a celebration鈥攁 gathering that is as warm and lively as the friendships we鈥檙e celebrating.
At 3:30 PM we鈥檒l start with a short opening that blends Christmas cheer with our theme. Then, get ready for a series of quick, insightful presentations. From 5 to 7 PM, enjoy drinks, snacks, and good company as we celebrate the ties that shape science.
