Comparative assessment with Comproved - Exchange and Inspiration session
Evaluations based on comparisons? For many it is an intuitive process to compare two products with each other, and base your assessment on the comparison between the two products. But what do you do when you have to compare more than 50 assignments? The intuitiveness and the overview disappears.
With the online tool Comproved it is possible to apply large-scale comparative assessments within your education, both by teachers and students. The power of comparative assessment and holistic evaluation is combined within an efficient tool. The evaluation process also becomes more reliable since the expertise of multiple assessors is combined.
During the session, Marije Lesterhuis, assistant professor at the Utrecht Medical Centre and co-founder of Comproved, will tell us something about the tool. Teachers Zita Albon and Anke Schreurs will also share their experiences with Comproved within their education. After the short presentations, we will enter in conversation to exchange knowledge and experiences regarding Comproved. Examples of topics to discuss might be:
- Collaboration with colleagues during the assessment,
- The validity of the tool,
- The possibilities that Comproved offers for feedback,
- Insight into the student鈥檚 work process and/or
- The pros and cons of holistic assessment compared to analytical assessment.
